Tax Problems In General
  • Many people do not owe taxes now BUT end up owing taxes at some point in time. The economy is in the tank so good jobs are hard to find and keep these days. Most people are having trouble paying their bills because they can’t keep up with the cost of living.

  • Taxes never go away. They have to be planned for and dealt with properly. They ALWAYS keep up with the cost of living. That is unfortunate but true.

  • More and more GOOD PEOPLE are starting to owe taxes during these tough economic times.
5
Attitude And Solving The Problem
  • According to most tax agencies, if you owe taxes, you must be a bad person. After a while, you begin to feel that way yourself. When you start to feel bad about yourself, it gets difficult to deal with any problems, let alone tax problems.

  • Dealing with any problem begins by feeling good about solving it. You should start to feel good about solving your tax problem when you realize that you REALLY ARE A GOOD PERSON. The simple fact is that bad things happen to good people.

  • So be a good person and get some help today because no one should have to deal with levies and seizures. No one should have to worry about losing their home and no one should have to stay up all night thinking about tax problems.

When Should I Settle?
  • You can legally offer a one-time payment in complete settlement to most tax agencies. You have a good chance in settlement if you meet the following two rules:
    • You don’t have a lot of equity laying around or it is not ‘accessible.’
    • You find it difficult to save money.

  • Most people can settle. It sounds too good to be true BUT most people really do qualify for settlement. Most people can settle even if they have completely different circumstances. Can you identify with any of the circumstances listed below?
    • I used to work but am currently unemployed.
    • Tax people are not chasing me because they consider me uncollectible.
    • I am laying low so tax people won’t bother or find me.
    • I am getting threats or actually being levied.
    • Tax people already have me on a payment plan.
    • I owe a bunch and could not afford a settlement for the amount I owe.
    • I already had a settlement rejected.

A Closer Look
  • Unemployed: You can settle whether you or unemployed or not. It usually does not matter at all. That surprises most people but it is true. It is a really good time to settle because tax agencies know unemployment usually means a person is in poor financial condition.

  • Uncollectible: You should settle FOR SURE, RIGHT NOW, if you are in uncollectible status. If you are considered uncollectible, you are considered to be broke by the tax agency’s own set of rules. That also means the tax people you owe are saying you qualify for settlement! That is a HUGE advantage for you!

  • Laying Low: The problem never goes away if you hide. Interest and penalties grow worse than interest on an illegal juice loan. Eventually they will find you and the amount you owe will be so large you will have to settle. Best advice… go for a settlement before they find you.

  • Threats Or Actual Levy: If you are being threatened by levy you should ACT NOW. Once a levy starts, it is difficult or takes time to stop. Also, all levy money taken before settlement is gravy money for the tax agencies. It does not get refunded or count toward settlement. Levies can almost always be stopped when a settlement is started, though. You just have to move quickly.

A Closer Look
  • Payment Plans: You can settle when you are on a payment plan. In fact, most people can stop or reduce payment plans and still qualify for settlement. Never get on a payment plans unless coupled with a settlement because you will pay out of your nose. Therefore, you should always try a settlement TODAY to stop the payment plan madness.

  • Owe a bunch: Settlements are not based as much on what you owe as much as they are based on your financial situation. If you can’t save money you probably qualify for a settlement. It is not important whether you owe $10,000 or $10,000,000. If you qualify for settlement, the amount owed is just a number.

  • Settlement Rejected: You can still offer a settlement. Settlements need to be documented properly to show tax agencies WHY YOU QUALIFY for one. You should always try a settlement again anyway. It works if it is done properly. You just have to find the right person.
